If you struggle with acne then you have likely want to try every new tool or cream that is making waves on social media. While there are helpful tips, tools, and potions to be found unfortunately most of them are too good to be true. Some aggravating your skin and making your acne worse.
Jade rollers are certainly eye catching and have become popular mostly due to the popularity of self-care and their ability to “naturally” heal your skin. You have likely seen many beauty bloggers claim that the rolling motion of the jade on your face will help to clear it of toxins and if you keep it cold it will help decrease puffiness. It has been touted as an anti-aging tool… helping to stimulate collagen and plumping skin reducing the visibility of wrinkles.
If you struggle with acne this is one trend you may want to stay away from. The truth is you can create the same amount of stimulation to your face by giving your face a good massage while cleansing. Your hands are on your face already so why night spend a few extra minutes moving the retained fluid from where it has gotten stuck by basically giving yourself a lymphatic massage. Using a jade roller you could inadvertently be spreading bacteria all around your face. This is especially true if you have active acne lesions. If you do decide to give it a try be sure to disinfect the roller after each use.
